Six new schools now have access to the world of books!!

OLE Nepal deployed offline E-Pustakalaya servers in six new schools in Gorkha and held orientation programs to teachers and students at the schools from November 25 to December 5. This brings the total number of schools with E-Pustakalaya servers in Gorkha to 23.

The new schools with our E-Pustakalaya offline servers are:

Bhrikuti LSS, Barapirke
Gyan Jyoti HSS, Lapsibot
Prabha SS, Apun
Tarachandra SS, Kusunde
Himalaya HSS, Simjung
Dhansira SS, Ghyachchok

Our team were accompanied by two local technical resources from Gorkha who were trained by OLE Nepal in Kathmandu from November 13 to 24 on the digital library server installation, maintenance and support. Upon completion of the installation in the six new schools, the two volunteers visited sixteen previous schools to provide technical support from December 5 to December 31, 2014.

Writers workshop in Nawalparasi

We conducted another writing workshop in Gaindakot, Nawalparasi, on December 25-27, 2014, with the goal to create more Nepali read aloud books for early readers. The workshop was facilitated by E-Pustakalaya advisors Professor Chudamanu Bandhu and Dr. Dhurva Ghimire, and participants included writers from Chitwan and Makwanpur. Selected stories from the fifteen submitted at the workshop will be edited and illustrated before publishing them in the digital library by OLE Nepal.
