With experience in mathematics and computer science through rigorous coursework and competitions, he is passionate about leveraging digital tools to make learning more accessible to young learners. Through online tutoring platforms and a recent on-site internship, he remains dedicated to empowering students across the world with engaging, interactive content. He joined OLE Nepal inspired by their mission to provide schools with free digital resources, and is excited to make a difference by applying his knowledge. Amulya Shrestha is a dedicated educator and a development practitioner currently serving as a Program Officer at O.L.E. Nepal. In this role, he coordinates the implementation of robotics and digital learning projects, facilitates teacher training, coordinates field activities, and supports procurement and stakeholder engagement. Previously, he worked as a Teacher Development Coordinator at H.E.L.P. and as a Teach For Nepal Fellow in Parsa, where he closely collaborated with rural schools to empower teachers and promote quality, inclusive education. Motivated by OLE Nepal’s vision of equitable, technology-driven learning for all children, Amulya aims to bridge educational gaps through innovative tools and grassroots capacity building. He holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies from Kathmandu University. With a strong foundation in the education sector, active involvement in youth and literary initiatives, and a passion for social impact, Amulya brings field insight, creativity, and deep commitment to advancing educational equity across Nepal.

Anshuman is a Multimedia Designer contributing to the Local Language Education and Skill-Based Training (LLEST) and Expanding Educational Access and Skills through Technology (EAST) projects. He began his journey as a Video Editor Trainee and later worked part-time as an Audio Editor/Coordinator while pursuing a Bachelor's in Multimedia Technology. Currently, he focuses on creating audio-visual content, animations, and UI/UX designs. He aims to refine his skills in animation, user-centered design, and multimedia production to further enhance his contributions toward advancing the OLE Nepal's mission.

Robotics Fellow (Researcher)

Arnav is a hardware and software developer with a focus on embedded systems, computer vision, and secure system design. At OLE Nepal, he works as a Robotics Research Fellow, contributing to the integration of robotics and technology into educational programs. His past work includes a face-tracking turret system using OpenCV and Arduino, a secure RFID access control system using ESP32 and NFC-based challenge-response authentication, and remote Nepali–English transcription and translation work for the University of Bern. Outside of technical work, he has been active in robotics, debate, and Model United Nations, receiving Outstanding Delegate at RBSMUN 2023 and serving on the Dias board at RBSMUN 2024. He holds A-Levels in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics from Rato Bangala School. Drawn to OLE Nepal's mission of making technology-driven education accessible across Nepal, he hopes to apply his technical background to build meaningful learning experiences for students.

Basanta is managing technical works related to the reliable operation of computer systems, servers, and networks at OLE Nepal. This also includes managing online and offline Epustakalaya servers and deployments. Currently, he also oversees Equity and Inclusion in Education Project from technical perspective. In the past, he was involved in the development of OLPC OS, setting up of school network, deployment of OLPC laptops, planning and coordination of field visits of OLE Nepal. Prior to joining OLE Nepal, he was involved in the development of localized linux OS called Nepalinux with PAN l10n Project at Madan Puraskar Pustakalaya. He holds Masters of Science in Information Technology from Sikkim Manipal University, India. He is also certified in RHCE and LPI1.

Illustration Artist

Mahima Maharjan is an Illustrator at OLE Nepal. She is responsible for creating characters, designing stories, developing mood boards and storyboards, and producing various other illustrations for educational content. With a background in teaching art, Mahima has been an art educator for the past three years, working with students from grades 1 to 5. Her passion for illustration extends beyond her teaching work, as she has also freelanced as an illustrator, taking on various creative projects. Mahima’s passion lies in crafting illustrated storybooks, and she recently showcased her work at the BFA Show 2025 . For her final project, she collaborated on a project aimed at reviving Panauti, where she illustrated a storybook that told the rich history and cultural narratives of the area. Alongside her artistic endeavors, Mahima has also studied graphic design, further enhancing her ability to create impactful and visually engaging content. Her motivation for joining OLE Nepal stems from a desire to blend her love for illustration with education, helping students engage with learning in creative and meaningful ways. Through her work, Mahima hopes to make educational content more visually compelling and accessible, creating a fun and interactive learning experience for all.

Matt, who was born in Los Angeles and now lives in Munich, Germany, is inspired by educators like Paulo Freire, Jean Piaget, and John Dewey. He is passionate about making learning more engaging and meaningful on a global scale. He believes education is the key to creating a more inclusive, just, and healthier world, and he sees OLE Nepal as playing a crucial role in building that future. At OLE Nepal, he has helped design a template for interactive language learning lessons and created an animation about passive solar heating. Currently, he is working with the team to develop a lesson on climate-responsive building design. He studied design and mechanical engineering at Dartmouth College and now works in the technology industry, where he writes, films, and edits videos, as well as creates motion graphics to explain complex concepts.

After completing his studies, he went abroad and stayed there for nearly two years. Upon returning to Nepal, he started his own business while also becoming actively involved in the teaching profession. His professional experience and training include gaining technical skills, working as a teacher, and engaging with the Thatikandh Rural Municipality CSSP project. He has also completed ICDP Competence Facilitator Training. Along with his skills and experience, he joined OLE Nepal to support teachers and students in program schools in Dailekh. Prior to joining OLE Nepal, he worked as an educator and was actively involved in community-driven initiatives, including leading local development frameworks and serving as a key resource person for community-based organic agriculture and indigenous seed preservation projects. Driven by a passion to reduce the digital divide in education, he joined OLE Nepal to help empower teachers and students in government schools through innovative, tech-assisted learning. Having an interest in improving access to quality and locally contextualized education, Pawan was motivated by OLE Nepal's free and open source educational content. Rabi has extensive experience in technological innovation and management, and a conviction that young educated Nepalis have a critical role to play in nation building. Rabi holds M.Eng. and B.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Rabi is Asia Society’s Asia 21 Young Leader and Asia 21 Fellow. Prior to starting OLE Nepal, Rabi established a software company in Nepal and had worked as a design engineer in the Silicon Valley.

At OLE Nepal, he supports financial management and compliance by assisting with financial documentation, reporting processes, record-keeping, and coordination with internal teams to ensure adherence to organizational policies and procedures. Before joining OLE Nepal, he worked at S. Devkota & Company, Chartered Accountants, where he gained experience in audits, taxation, financial reporting, and compliance-related consultancy for government entities, private companies, NGOs, and INGOs.
