E-Pustakalaya Development and Upgrade - EPDU

This ongoing project has been active since the development of E-Pustakalaya in 2008. It involves continually adding new content, upgrading technology, and developing new features to enhance the platform’s functionality and user experience. The E-Pustakalaya redesign project will revamp the website and mobile application to ensure responsiveness across all devices, including computers, mobiles, tablets, smartboards, and smart TVs. Empowering Local Communities through Local Language Education and Skill-Based Training - LLEST

The LLEST Project targets two critical educational challenges in Nepal: the shortage of learning materials in local languages for early childhood education, and the lack of quality resources for skill-based training in rural areas. The project aims to enrich early learning with interactive stories in various local languages, while also enhancing vocational training accessibility through digital courses, focusing on bridging educational gaps in underserved communities.

Expanding Educational Access and Skills through Technology - EAST

The EAST project builds upon OLE Nepal's successful track record in ICT-based education and extends its impact to new regions by expanding its ICT in Education program, which equips schools with essential computing infrastructure and provides comprehensive training. Girls in ICT and AI - Robotics support and content development program - Girls in ICT-AI Project

A collaboration between OLE Nepal and the KDDI Foundation aimed at strengthening STEM and digital literacy for twelve existing schools in Lalitpur Metropolitan City (LMC) and Shree Balika Namuna Secondary School in Dharan, with a particular focus on empowering female students.

Past Projects

The EAEN project aims to make digital education more inclusive by translating curriculum-aligned interactive learning activities and stories into Nepali Sign Language (NSL). This initiative is designed to ensure that hearing-impaired learners can access and benefit from the digital modules developed by OLE Nepal. Once the content is fully prepared, the NSL-integrated e-modules will be introduced in schools for deaf learners in Surkhet, enhancing their learning opportunities and fostering inclusive education practices.

This project expands OLE Nepal's ICT in Education program to six schools in Kathmandu, Nuwakot, and Sindhupalchok, enhancing digital learning for students. The ICT in Basic Education (ICTBE) Project, launched in January 2023 with KDDI Foundation support, aims to enrich education in Bajura and East Nawalparasi by introducing digital learning labs in six public schools. Equipped with offline servers and Raspberry Pi computers, the project supports 1,117 students and provides teacher training and ongoing support to ensure effective technology use in classrooms. The initiative also engages local officials in discussions on the impact of educational technology on teaching and learning outcomes.

The Digitally Enhanced Early Reading (DEER) Program, a collaborative effort with ONGD-FNEL from 2019 to 2023, aimed to promote promote emergent literacy and early-grade skills in the Nepali language through locally relevant and contextual animated children's stories, and interactive games.
