Bryan co-founded OLE Nepal with Rabi Karmacharya. Bryan is a technologist and member of the American Foreign Service. Bryan met Rabi and got into ICT in education while serving in the U.S. Embassy in Kathmandu. He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science from Georgia Tech. He currently serves in the U.S. Mission to China.

Rabi is a social entrepreneur who helped launch OLE Nepal with the vision to use technology to improve the quality of public education in Nepal, and to transform the way children learn through engagement, exploration and experimentation. Rabi has extensive experience in technological innovation and management, and a conviction that young educated Nepalis have a critical role to play in nation building. Rabi holds M.Eng. and B.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Rabi is Asia Society’s Asia 21 Young Leader and Asia 21 Fellow. Prior to starting OLE Nepal, Rabi established a software company in Nepal and had worked as a design engineer in the Silicon Valley.

Upaya advises the organization on various management aspects, bringing deep institutional knowledge and experience. He previously served as Executive Director from September 2022 to May 2025, before taking on the role of Executive Advisor for a year. Over the years, he has also held key positions as Finance Director and Finance Manager, overseeing finance and administration functions. Since joining the organization shortly after its establishment in 2007, he has contributed extensively across administration, finance, human resources, and operations, including securing project approvals from relevant authorities. He has played a leading role in establishing important organizational policies, codes, and practices. Through his involvement in both project implementation and organizational management, he has developed a strong and well-rounded understanding of program operations. Upaya holds M.Com. and B.Com. (Hons.) degrees from the University of Delhi and brings nearly a decade of prior experience in the banking sector, where he served in various capacities, including leading a branch and a department.
