Graphic Designer

Anil works as a Graphic Designer at OLE Nepal with our Hamro Ramailo Kathaharu (HRK) project team. He works on content design elements and is responsible for creating gifs and illustrations for our stories, along with providing UD support, and audio and video editing. He also sources audio for dialogues and sound effects that complement the message of the stories. Anil has previously worked as a data specialist. He was motivated to join OLE Nepal for a learning experience and to implement his ideas and creativity.

Animesh, a recent Bachelor's in Computing graduate, is the Backend Developer for our digital library, E-Pustakalaya. He is responsible for developing and implementing the backend system. He joined OLE Nepal to utilize his skills and abilities to support the organization's mission of enhancing education quality and reducing disparities through technology integration in academics.

Anshuman Yadav

Audio Editor/Coordinator

Anshuman Yadav is currently working part-time at OLE Nepal as an Audio Editor/Coordinator for the KDDI E-Paath project. He is mostly involved in activities that require audios and sound effects for the chapters of the KDDI E-Paath project. He started working as a Trainee Video Editor and is continuing his journey at OLE Nepal. He is currently in his second year of studying Bachelor's in Multimedia Technology. Prior to this, he was a science student when he studied A levels. He was motivated to join OLE Nepal because it was his first job, and also because his father used to work at OLE Nepal in the past.

Ashraya is working as the Project Officer on our content development projects. He was previously involved in a different project at OLE Nepal, working as a Teaching Facilitator for laptop program schools in Jajarkot and Darchula districts. Before joining OLE Nepal, Ashraya has worked as a trainee in different NGOs. He joined OLE because of his interest in the program where he can work with the local schools and community, which will help him gain new experience in the field of education in Nepal. Ashraya has completed Bachelors in Social Work and Psychology from Tribhuvan University.
Basanta Shrestha

Basanta Shrestha

Senior Technical Manager

Basanta is managing technical works related to the reliable operation of computer systems, servers, and networks at OLE Nepal. This also includes managing online and offline Epustakalaya servers and deployments. In the past, he was involved in the development of OLPC OS, setting up of school network, deployment of OLPC laptops, planning and coordination of field visits of OLE Nepal. Prior to joining OLE Nepal, he was involved in the development of localized linux OS called Nepalinux with PAN l10n Project at Madan Puraskar Pustakalaya. He holds Masters of Science in Information Technology from Sikkim Manipal University, India. He is also certified in RHCE and LPI1.

Project Manager | E-Paath Development Project

Deepa is the Project Manager overseeing the Digital Content Development Program, specifically focusing on the "E-Paath" initiative. She is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the entire program. Over the past decade, she has successfully helped lead the development of E-Paath, showcasing her strong leadership abilities and dedication. She also maintains relationships with central and local government agencies, as well as other line agencies, to ensure the smooth execution of the project. Currently pursuing an MPhil degree, she finds her unwavering dedication to work with OLE Nepal fueled by the joy on children's faces as they learn through E-Paath, reinforcing her belief in contributing to a noble cause.

Project Manager | E-Pustakalaya

Ganesh has been associated with OLE Nepal since September 2009 as the Project Manager for the E-pustakalya project. Ganesh is primarily involved in further developing and expanding OLE Nepal’s existing electronic library so that it becomes a widely and regularly-used electronic resource for students, teachers, and families in Nepal as well as for the global Nepali diaspora. Ganesh has also organised writers’ workshops to produce original content for E-Pustakalaya. Ganesh holds a Master's Degree in Anthropology/Sociology from Tribhuvan University.

Ishan works as a web developer at OLE Nepal, developing interactive E-Paath modules. He has also worked in the integration of Nepali Sign Language (NSL) instruction videos in our digital learning lessons and exercises. Ishan joined OLE Nepal as he was motivated to contribute using his skills in developing interactive and inclusive digital learning content for children with learning differences in Nepal. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering.

Jabed Begha currently works as a Content Intern where his main task is to upload the required videos, textbooks, audio, etc. His main responsibility is to handle the E-pustakalaya website where he uploads the latest/being used textbooks, videos, and audio. He also rechecked the old uploaded videos and audio and corrected them to new ones. He was motivated to join OLE Nepal to gain experience and work in a team to learn more.

Assistant Manager | Training, Monitoring, and Evaluation

Kalpana serves as the Assistant Manager for Training, Monitoring, and Evaluation programs at OLE Nepal. In her role, she is responsible for coordinating and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders to foster a positive shift in attitudes toward technology in education through teacher training initiatives. With a Master's degree in Educational Management and an MPhil degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Kathmandu University, Kalpana has a deep passion for needs assessment, designing and delivering customized training programs, and conducting educational research. Additionally, she is a founding member of the Human Development and Environment Concerns Society Nepal.

Keshab is a Frontend Developer at OLE Nepal, dedicated to enhancing the E-Paath platform by adding new chapters that will be beneficial in the near future. With a solid IT background and valuable experience from previous roles in different IT companies, he brings expertise to his current position. Holding a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from KIST College of Information Technology, Keshab was inspired to join OLE Nepal after witnessing the organization's accomplishments and positive impact on young children in rural areas. Kumudini is the project content lead for the Digitally Enhanced "Hamro Ramailo Kathaharu" project. She is responsible for the overall design and development of interactive learning activities and stories for early grades. She has taught elementary school students & also students of graduate program. Kumudini holds MA & BA degrees in English Literature.

Senior UI/UX Designer

Monil works as a Senior UI/UX Designer at OLE Nepal. He works with the content design and development team to conceptualize, visualize and produce attractive user interface, stories and game designs from the perspective of a storyteller. Monil has previously worked in an IT company on UI/UX and illustrations, and he also has experience as a Business Analyst and Project Manager. Monil has a drive for learning new skills and one of his passions includes photography. He is part of "Photowalkers Nepal” club, where they collect photos and stories around Kathmandu valley. Monil’s desire to explore and enhance his creative side, while make a positive contribution to the community, motivated him to join OLE. He has embraced OLE's vision as his own, with the realization of using his designing and story-telling skills, while nurturing his interests and drive for positive change. Monil holds a Bachelors in Information Management (BIM) from Institute of Management Studies Affiliated with Tribhuvan University with Information Technology as a major.

He was motivated to join OLE Nepal as it is actively involved in catering to improving education quality through the use of technology.
Pawan Dhakal

Content Designer

Pawan works as a Content Designer in OLE Nepal, focusing on creating engaging learning content for a self-learning app for grades 4-5. Previously, Pawan was involved as a Content Designer for E-Paath and learning games in OLE Nepal from 2017-2018. He has also worked in rural schools in remote locations like Syangja, Kalikot, Upper Mustang, and Dolpo.Having an interest in improving access to quality and locally contextualized education, Pawan was motivated by OLE Nepal's free and open source educational content. He hopes to create engaging learning content with OLE Nepal that will reach students throughout Nepal.Pawan has a B.A. in Physics and Mathematics from Dartmouth College and an M.Sc. in Physics from The Ohio State University.

Prabha works as a UX/UI Designer at OLE Nepal. Her main responsibility is to create designs that strike a balance between aesthetics and functionality. She also focuses on user research , wireframing, prototyping , and conducting usability tests to refine the overall user experience. Before joining OLE Nepal, she had worked in various design roles in different companies or freelance projects such as Taxi Dispatch systems, healthcare, finance or technology. She holds a Bachelor of Information and Communications Technology (BICT) degree, her studies provided her with a deep understanding of technology. She was motivated to join OLE Nepal as she wants to pursue a career in UI/UX design, driven by a passion for creating meaningful and intuitive experiences for users.

Pragya is currently working as a graphic designer at OLE Nepal. Her primary area of work is working as an illustrator for E-paath. Before joining OLE Nepal, Pragya worked as a creative educator for the US Embassy's Bookbus Nepal, conducting workshops at various schools and marginalized 'Badi' and 'Dalit' communities. She has a graduate degree in fine arts majoring in graphic communications. Her love for art and my passion to work for the betterment of the education process for children led me to OLE Nepal.

Rabi is a social entrepreneur who helped launch OLE Nepal with the vision to use technology to improve the quality of public education in Nepal, and to transform the way children learn through engagement, exploration and experimentation. Rabi has extensive experience in technological innovation and management, and a conviction that young educated Nepalis have a critical role to play in nation building. Rabi holds M.Eng. and B.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Rabi is Asia Society’s Asia 21 Young Leader and Asia 21 Fellow. Prior to starting OLE Nepal, Rabi established a software company in Nepal and had worked as a design engineer in the Silicon Valley.

Rabita has been with OLE Nepal since 2009 and she contributes in smooth functioning of the office administration and accounting. She is responsible for handling accounts, logistics, and procurement. Besides overseeing the administrative and accounting aspects of the organization, Rabita is also heavily involved in monitoring major administrative activities under deployments and field visits. She brings more than 10 years of experiences in department of accounting and logistics, working in the private sector. Rabita holds Masters in Business Studies from Tribhuvan University.

Rashmi Shrestha

Content Staff

Rashmi Shrestha works as a content staff at OLE Nepal. She works with our digital library content team on conversion and formatting of textbooks to make them accessible to learners with visual impairments. Rashmi has previously worked in different organizations that focus on social issues. She has also worked as a resident technology in teaching support staff in one of OLE Nepal’s program schools in Nuwakot. During the pandemic, Rashmi volunteered with UNDP where she worked with vulnerable members of the community that included women, children, senior citizens, differently-abled individuals and members of the LGBTQI+ groups. Rashmi strongly believes that education enlightens the pathway of humans and it serves as a guide throughout one’s life. She was motivated to be a part of OLE Nepal, as she believes in the work to make an inclusive education system by supporting the government to ensure the best quality of education all over Nepal by using technology.

Social Media and Outreach Intern

Rohan Rajbahak is currently enrolled as an intern in OLE Nepal's "Social Media and Outreach" department. He is currently involved in designing promotional materials, optimizing Digital Marketing Campaigns (SEO, SEM, Email- Marketing, etc.), and enhancing the website's visibility. Previously, he worked as a part-time Marketing Head in a cargo company. He was motivated to join OLE Nepal because it uses technology to make quality education accessible to rural parts of Nepal. Rohan holds a BSc (Hons) Computer Systems Engineering (BSc. IT) degree and has successfully completed a Digital Marketing 360 training course.

Sabba is a Content Designer at OLE Nepal. She's responsible for designing chapters, focusing on working with the national curriculum to make our E-Paath content easy to use for learners. With a prior experience in content design and working as an educator, she has created materials and designed lesson plans for kindergarten, primary school and high school. On the side, she also teaches programming classes to kids aged 6-15. She is also pursuing a major in Computer Science.

Shishir works as Project Manager at OLE Nepal. He leads multiple projects, including robotics project, STEAM Ahead, and ICT in Basic Education. His primary areas of work at OLE Nepal are planning, implementation and monitoring of the projects implemented at the various schools that OLE Nepal works with. He also coordinates and maintains relations with government agencies and donors to ensure the smooth execution of projects. As a trained teacher, he is actively involved in OLE Nepal’s teacher training program. He holds a Master’s degree in Education from Tribhuvan University.

Sujash works as the E-Pustakalaya and System Intern at OLE Nepal. His primary work here is installing and testing offline digital library systems, setup and configuration of routers, installing and setting up Windows and Linux machines, School support, and installing and setting up Raspberry Pi and tablets. He previously worked as an accountant for a year in Teleshwor Deri Pvt. Ltd. He is currently studying Bachelor in Information Management (BIM) at Nagarjuna College of Information Technology.

As Senior Manager at OLE Nepal, Tikaraj is responsible for the overall planning of all the training programs, coordinating and managing with schools, delivering periodic training as well as updating and revising training programs and manuals. He is keen on mobilizing local community support to ensure successful integration of technology in schools and communities. Tikaraj is a trained trainer, has designed and delivered training for government officials, local bodies and community members. His previous work experience in the development sector have been with Helvetas Nepal, Rural Access Program and United Nations Development Program funded projects.

Executive Director

Upaya joined OLE Nepal right after the organization was formed in 2007. He was involved in the administration, finance, human resource, operations, and handled obtaining approvals for OLE Nepal’s projects from various bodies. He had led the effort to establish various official policies, codes and practices. With all these aspects related to the projects of the organization, he got to know the details of program operations. Upaya holds a M.Com. and a B.Com. (Hons.) degrees from the University of Delhi, India and had the experience of working in the banking sector for almost a decade in various capacities including that of leading the branch and the department.
