Multimedia/Graphic Designer

Anil works mainly with our Local Language Education and Skill-Based Training (LLEST) project team. He works on content design elements and is responsible for creating the designs of our stories, along with providing UD support, and audio and video editing. He also sources audio for dialogues and sound effects that complement the message of the stories. Besides these duties, he manages design and print materials and oversees social media platforms of our organization. Anil has previously worked as a data specialist. He was motivated to join OLE Nepal for a learning experience and to implement his ideas and creativity.

With past experience in the successfully completing projects across different domains and technologies. Ashraya currently works in the Human Resources Department of the organization under the USAID Equity and Inclusion in Education Project, facilitating departments and managing communications. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and Psychology and has gained experience through internships with various organizations. Ashraya is committed to refining his current skills and acquiring new ones, aiming to contribute to both the organization's success and his own professional development.

Senior Technical Manager

Basanta is managing technical works related to the reliable operation of computer systems, servers, and networks at OLE Nepal. This also includes managing online and offline Epustakalaya servers and deployments. Currently, he also oversees Equity and Inclusion in Education Project from technical perspective. In the past, he was involved in the development of OLPC OS, setting up of school network, deployment of OLPC laptops, planning and coordination of field visits of OLE Nepal. Prior to joining OLE Nepal, he was involved in the development of localized linux OS called Nepalinux with PAN l10n Project at Madan Puraskar Pustakalaya. He holds Masters of Science in Information Technology from Sikkim Manipal University, India. He is also certified in RHCE and LPI1.

Deepa is an experienced digital learning content creator with over 16 years of experience in education, specializing in curriculum design, training, and program implementation. Currently, she holds the position of Digital Learning Expert within the 'Equity and Inclusion in Education' initiative. Over the past decade, she was involved in developing E-Paath, an interactive curriculum-aligned learning software for young learners. Currently pursuing an MPhil degree, she finds her dedication to working with OLE Nepal fueled by the joy on children's faces as they learn through E-Paath, reinforcing her belief in contributing to a noble cause.

Ganesh has been associated with OLE Nepal since September 2009 as the Project Manager for the E-pustakalya project. Ganesh is primarily involved in further developing and expanding OLE Nepal’s existing electronic library so that it becomes a widely and regularly-used electronic resource for students, teachers, and families in Nepal as well as for the global Nepali diaspora. Ganesh has also organised writers’ workshops to produce original content for E-Pustakalaya. Ganesh holds a Master's Degree in Anthropology/Sociology from Tribhuvan University.

Machine Learning Engineer

Gaurav currently works as a Machine Learning Engineer for Intelligent Optical Character Recognition (iOCR) project at OLE, Nepal. He is responsible for the development and enhancement of iOCR which digitizes scanned books (especially in Devanagari script) to make E-Pustakalaya more accessible to visually challenged students. Before joining OLE Nepal, Gaurav was working as a Backend System Engineer in a Python-based tech stack. Gaurav decided to join hands with OLE Nepal to contribute to the Nobel Cause of "making education accessible to all". Gaurav has completed his Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from Kathmandu University.

Hrishav Raj Joshi, is responsible for coordinating the project related activities, and compliance for our Robotics and ICT Project. His domain of interest includes Heritage, Water Engineering, Robotics and he was also involved in the various projects of other sector as well. Previously, he worked as Robotics Associate in OLE Nepal which has boosted his skill and interest in Education and Robotics further. Re-joining OLE he wants to learn a new possibility and platform to conduct Robotics and enlarge its domain so that every age group can learn it and develop skills in STEM.

Jack focuses on our Robotics and ICT in Education Project by preparing new modules and facilitating the program school in L.M.C. He has completed his second year at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he studies computer science, cognitive science (computation and cognition), and philosophy. Additionally, he serves as the head of the Buddhist Student Club at MIT. Back home in the United States, he has worked in education with the Adopt a Family program in Palm Beach County, Florida.

Kalpana is responsible for in overseeing the iOCR optimization and USAID Equity and Inclusion in Education projects, while also managing program activities and fostering positive relationships with stakeholders. With over a decade of experience, she specializes in planning, designing and delivering customized training programs, teaching, and conducting educational research using various monitoring tools. She finds motivation in working with OLE Nepal because it allows her to work with children to increase access and engage with teachers to integrate ICT into the teaching-learning process.

She is responsible for the overall design and development of interactive learning activities and stories for early grades. She has taught elementary school students & also students of graduate program. Kumudini holds MA & BA degrees in English Literature.

Mausam works on the Robotics and ICT in Education Project with other fellows, focusing on facilitating the program at L.M.C. School. He previously gained practical experience in communication, collaboration, and project management while working with the Electronics Project Club. His passion for robotics and education brought him to OLE Nepal, where he can both learn and share knowledge. Mausam recently graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Communication and Information Engineering from Kathmandu Engineering College.

Nabin Khadka primarily works on our Local Language Education and Skill-Based Training (LLEST) Project, where he develops educational content in a visually appealing and accessible manner. Previously, he contributed to the content development of our digital content E-Paath and worked as a MERN developer (freelancer) for a clothing brand. He holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering. He was motivated to join OLE Nepal because of its active involvement in improving the quality of education through technology.

Pawan works as a Content Designer in OLE Nepal, focusing on creating engaging learning content for a self-learning app for grades 4-5. Previously, Pawan was involved as a Content Designer for E-Paath and learning games in OLE Nepal from 2017-2018. He has also worked in rural schools in remote locations like Syangja, Kalikot, Upper Mustang, and Dolpo.Having an interest in improving access to quality and locally contextualized education, Pawan was motivated by OLE Nepal's free and open source educational content. He hopes to create engaging learning content with OLE Nepal that will reach students throughout Nepal.Pawan has a B.A. in Physics and Mathematics from Dartmouth College and an M.Sc. in Physics from The Ohio State University.

Prabesh is passionate about technology and innovation. He joined OLE Nepal to leverage technology for positive change, aiming to contribute his expertise in robotics, programming, and event organization to enhance OLE Nepal's educational initiatives. As the Founder and Robotics Coordinator of the Young Scientists' Community, he created a platform for over 30 students to learn about robotics and programming. At Triyog High School, he leads the Robotics Club, organizing STEM competitions and building projects such as drones and self-driving cars. Additionally, he organized the NASA Space Apps Challenge 2023 through Infinita, impacting over 70 participants. He pursued GCE A Levels at St. Xavier's College, Kathmandu, specializing in Computer Science, Further Mathematics, Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry.

Rabi is a social entrepreneur who helped launch OLE Nepal with the vision to use technology to improve the quality of public education in Nepal, and to transform the way children learn through engagement, exploration and experimentation. Rabi has extensive experience in technological innovation and management, and a conviction that young educated Nepalis have a critical role to play in nation building. Rabi holds M.Eng. and B.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Rabi is Asia Society’s Asia 21 Young Leader and Asia 21 Fellow. Prior to starting OLE Nepal, Rabi established a software company in Nepal and had worked as a design engineer in the Silicon Valley.

Rabita has been with OLE Nepal since 2009 and she contributes in smooth functioning of the office administration and accounting. She is responsible for handling accounts, logistics, and procurement. Besides overseeing the administrative and accounting aspects of the organization, Rabita is also heavily involved in monitoring major administrative activities under deployments and field visits. She brings more than 10 years of experiences in department of accounting and logistics, working in the private sector. Rabita holds Masters in Business Studies from Tribhuvan University.

Sabba is a Content Designer at OLE Nepal. She's responsible for designing chapters, focusing on working with the national curriculum to make our E-Paath content easy to use for learners. With a prior experience in content design and working as an educator, she has created materials and designed lesson plans for kindergarten, primary school and high school. On the side, she also teaches programming classes to kids aged 6-15. She is also pursuing a major in Computer Science.

Sanish oversees our Local Language Education and Skill-Based Training (LLEST) Project, aiming to implement innovative learning strategies to enhance teaching and learning processes. He initially joined OLE Nepal as a Teaching Facilitator in the remote schools of Darchula, later working as a Project Coordinator for the E-Paath and other digital content development projects. He was motivated by OLE Nepal's work in promoting quality education. With a Bachelor's in Business Information Systems and a Master's in Education in English Language Teaching (KU), he aims to improve education in rural areas and lessen rural-urban education inequality.

Shishir works as Project Manager at OLE Nepal. He leads multiple projects, including robotics project, STEAM Ahead, and ICT in Basic Education. His primary areas of work at OLE Nepal are planning, implementation and monitoring of the projects implemented at the various schools that OLE Nepal works with. He also coordinates and maintains relations with government agencies and donors to ensure the smooth execution of projects. As a trained teacher, he is actively involved in OLE Nepal’s teacher training program. He holds a Master’s degree in Education from Tribhuvan University.

With experience in content creation for Aviation Nepal Network and independent research, he brings a diverse skill set to the role. His high school education from Deerwalk Sifal School and Chelsea World School provides him with a solid foundation for his work, enabling him to contribute effectively to OLE Nepal’s mission.

Supriya Manandhar primarily collaborates with the design and development teams to conceptualize, visualize, and produce engaging user interfaces and narratives from a storyteller's perspective. Her background in Visual Arts and Art Education has led her to previous roles in illustration, teaching, journalism, and game development. She is particularly interested in the intersection of creativity, technology, and cultural studies. Her passion for critical pedagogy is what draws her to OLE Nepal.

He recently completed his fourth semester in BSc, Robotics and Intelligent Systems. Sushan is deeply passionate about using technology to improve education and is particularly interested in contributing to a brighter and more inclusive future for Nepal, which motivated him to join OLE Nepal.

Sushma Yadav, a semi qualified CA, is responsible for administration, accounting, financial reporting, and compliance for our USAID Equity and Inclusion in Education (EIE) Project. Joining OLE Nepal, she aims to utilize her previous skills and experiences to contribute to achieving the project's objectives and to gain a deeper understanding of the financial operations of the NGO. Currently, she is pursuing her CA Finals alongside an MBS in Finance.

As Senior Manager at OLE Nepal, Tikaraj is responsible for the overall planning of all the training programs, coordinating and managing with schools, delivering periodic training as well as updating and revising training programs and manuals. He is keen on mobilizing local community support to ensure successful integration of technology in schools and communities. Tikaraj is a trained trainer, has designed and delivered training for government officials, local bodies and community members. His previous work experience in the development sector have been with Helvetas Nepal, Rural Access Program and United Nations Development Program funded projects.

Upaya joined OLE Nepal right after the organization was formed in 2007. He was involved in the administration, finance, human resource, operations, and handled obtaining approvals for OLE Nepal’s projects from various bodies. He had led the effort to establish various official policies, codes and practices. With all these aspects related to the projects of the organization, he got to know the details of program operations. Upaya holds a M.Com. and a B.Com. (Hons.) degrees from the University of Delhi, India and had the experience of working in the banking sector for almost a decade in various capacities including that of leading the branch and the department.
