Recognizing the importance of accessibility, our learning resources are designed to provide both online and offline access. In response to growing demand from schools and community libraries, we have deployed offline servers powered by E-Pustakalaya. These servers contain a diverse range of comprehensive learning resources, allowing access to digital educational materials without the need for internet connectivity. In 2023 alone, we deployed 103 offline servers in schools across 40 different districts in Nepal. This deployment has continued into 2024, with the total number of servers in our offline-server network now exceeding 1700.
In a collaborative effort between OLE Nepal and Youth Foundation Nepal, the E-Pustakalaya training program was recently conducted at Jana Jagriti Secondary School in Tulsipur, Dang, and Shree Janta Secondary School in Babarpur, Dang. The training sessions, held from March 25th to March 30th, 2024, spanned three days at each location.
Youth Foundation Nepal spearheaded the implementation of the E-Pustakalaya program in two schools in Dang. They facilitated the installation of E-Pustakalaya servers provided by OLE Nepal and supported the establishment of computer labs, enabling students to access educational resources from E-Pustakalaya even in the absence of internet connectivity.
The training agenda primarily focused on equipping participants with the skills to effectively utilize the E-Pustakalaya digital library and integrate digital content into classroom instruction. Attended by local stakeholders, teachers, school principals, and organizers, the training program significantly contributed to enhancing teachers' computer proficiency and fostering digital learning. The visible strides made within a short timeframe underscore the substantial impact of the training initiative.
31 teachers trained: Teachers were trained to enhance their comprehension of the digital resources installed on our offline E-Pustakalaya server, enabling them to use these resources on tablets and other relevant devices as applicable. Equipped teachers to troubleshoot technical, managerial, and pedagogical challenges related to E-Pustakalaya.
Deployed offline server: Installed offline servers in the schools to ensure uninterrupted access to a wealth of educational material, supporting learning even in areas with limited internet connectivity.
