Robotics Training of Teachers (TOT) , organized by Open Learning Exchange Nepal in collaboration with Lalitpur Metropolitan City and KDDI Foundation, was conducted on 11th and 12th November at Prabhat School and Hindu Vidyapeeth School, respectively. The training aimed to support 20 focal teachers from 10 government schools in Lalitpur to independently teach robotics to students in grades 6-8, ensuring the program’s continuity. Facilitated by Hrishav Raj Joshi, Mausam Gurung, Prabesh Shrestha, and Shubhashish Upreti, the two-day session introduced two new robotics module incorporating Ultrasonic Sensors.

The training included an overview of modules like the Automatic Object Collector and Maze-Solving Robot, focusing on integrating new hardware into the Studuino bot and providing practical guidance on additional power supply setups. Teachers engaged in hands-on activities to build and program robots, alongside learning troubleshooting techniques and preparing for the upcoming Robotics Challenge. Training materials, including sensors, jumper wires, and manuals, were distributed to all schools.

The program successfully boosted teacher confidence and skills, equipping them to lead robotics lessons and guide students effectively. Teachers expressed enthusiasm for the practical, skill-based approach, which they found valuable for mentoring student teams. Moving forward, the program plans to provide ongoing support, implement feedback mechanisms to enhance teaching effectiveness, and initiate student engagement activities in preparation for the final Robotics Challenge.
