Another crucial task was completed with the assessment of one of the most affected areas, Gorkha district. Our team visited last week and conducted a thorough evaluation of the schools severely damaged by the earthquake. After spending nearly a week in different parts of Gorkha, we found many schools unable to conduct regular classes. Many require immediate rebuilding and reconstruction. Based on our assessment, OLE Nepal plans to reconstruct five schools in Gorkha district with generous support from our friends at AirAsia Foundation and contributions from local and international donors. Alongside rebuilding efforts, OLE Nepal will focus on providing learning resources to students through an innovative tool—the XO laptop.
