As 2024 comes to a close, we reflect on a year of progress, learning, and engagement through the LLEST (Empowering Local Communities through Local Language Education and Skill-Based Training) Project. Coming to the year end, our commitment remains the same, as we address Nepal's educational challenges focusing on the need for learning materials in local dialects for early childhood development and the issue related with the lack of free, quality resources for skill-based training. Here’s a look back at some of the key developments from October to December 2024.

On July 24, 2024, we held a workshop at the Snow Leopard Residence in Kathmandu for students from Dho Tarap, Dolpo, who had just finished their SEE at Crystal Mountain School. This session, focused on personal growth and skill development, was a crucial step in our ONGD-LLEST Project, paving the way for our upcoming field visits to Mustang and Dolpo.

The LLEST project tackles two major educational challenges in Nepal: the lack of local language materials for early childhood education and insufficient quality resources for skill-based training in rural areas. In 2024, our primary focus is on researching, designing, and planning 10 skills-based courses and developing a personalized learning platform, with significant progress made in laying the groundwork and establishing key partnerships in the first half of the year.
