With the aim of empowering visually and hearing impaired learners, our team conducted monitoring and support visits to several schools during the first quarter of 2024 (January-March). We focused on four schools for visually impaired students (Shree Panchodaya School, Purwanchal Gyan Chakshu Secondary School, Shanti Namuna Secondary School, and Damkada Secondary School). Here, we facilitated the use of screen readers, enabling students to access digital learning content from the E-Pustakalaya Digital Library. Additionally, we visited two schools for hearing-impaired students (Shree Navajyoti Deaf School and Shrijana Resident Deaf School, Kaski), where we integrated digital content into the teaching and learning process. This included E-Paath with Nepali Sign Language (NSL) and other materials accessible on our E-Pustakalaya powered offline-servers.

Accessibility

After integrating accessibility features into our E-Pustakalaya platform for the needs of visually impaired learners in December 2023, we deployed the platform in six inclusive public schools. Alongside our other accessible learning resources for hearing-impaired learners, this initiative focused on inclusivity for both visually and hearing-impaired students.
