O.L.E. Nepal has been working under USAID’s Equity and Inclusion in Education Project in partnership with PLAN International and other organizations. This initiative aims to expand ICT-based educational opportunities and accessibility in schools across the Karnali and Madhesh provinces. As part of the project, a digital learning program will be launched in five public secondary schools within these provinces.
In October and November, O.L.E. Nepal’s team, in collaboration with partner organizations, conducted pre-feasibility visits to a total 24 schools including four resource schools, and five community learning centers (CLCs). These visits were guided by specific selection criteria to assess the readiness and suitability of the schools.
Based on the survey findings, the team has preliminarily shortlisted three schools in Karnali Province and two in Madhesh Province. However, the final selection is still under review and will be confirmed after further consultation with the central bodies under the ministry of education and science and technology.
We are excited to announce that, thanks to your support, children in the selected schools will soon be learning with laptops equipped with interactive digital learning materials, thousands of e-books, and educational videos through the offline digital library. The selection process is moving forward, and we will share updates in our upcoming reports. Stay tuned!
