About the Fellowship
The Teaching with Technology Fellowship is an experiential teaching and community engagement program by Open Learning Exchange (OLE) Nepal. It invites passionate young individuals to support public schools in using technology effectively, promote digital learning, and experience Nepal's diverse communities.
Through a combination of structured training, hands-on classroom teaching, and cultural immersion, fellows contribute to improving access to quality education while developing meaningful professional and personal skills.
Objectives
- Integrate digital learning tools into everyday classroom teaching
- Enhance teaching practices and student engagement through technology
- Foster cross-cultural understanding and empathy through community immersion
- Build the capacity of public school teachers in using digital resources effectively
- Nurture leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills in young educators
Position: Teaching with Technology Fellows
Number of Fellows: 4
Fellows will be placed in public schools across Jumla, Dailekh, and Surkhet (Karnali Province) and Dhanusha (Madhesh Province) for a period of 12 months. They will support program schools and facilitate teachers in integrating technology into the teaching-learning process.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Help teachers integrate technology in classrooms using digital learning materials, including E-Paath, E-Pustakalaya and other digital learning platforms
- Serve as a liaison between OLE Nepal and the school to ensure effective program implementation
- Participate in teacher and community meetings to share program updates and progress
- Apply technology solutions to promote better learning by ensuring school equipment functions smoothly
- Support in updating of servers in alignment with the new platform and content as per project requirements
- Formation and handling of the ICT student clubs
- Conduct activities that engage children in learning and inspire a love for education
- Conduct surveys as assigned by the office
- Represent OLE Nepal at community and local government level meetings as required
- Execute pedagogical and technical duties as assigned by the supervisor
- Submit regular progress reports and keep the supervisor updated

Who can apply?
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferably Education, Social Sciences, or Computer Science)
- Willing to live and work in one of the four program districts for 12 months
- Motivated and enthusiastic about improving public education in Nepal
- Able to work independently and take initiative without close supervision
- Enjoys working with children and is comfortable in community settings
Program Overview
- Program Name - Expanding Educational Access through Technology (EAST)
- No. of fellows - 4 (Recent college graduates or Bachelor students)
- Program Areas - Jumla, Dailekh and Surkhet (Karnali Province), Dhanusha ( Madhesh Province)
- Training Duration - 2 weeks (in-house, OLE Nepal, Lalitpur)
- Placement Duration - 1 year
- Number of Schools - 12
- Commitment - Support teachers, students, and school administrators, with regular dedicated visits to assigned schools and liaison work between OLE Nepal and schools.
Orientation and Training (2 weeks)
Held at OLE Nepal’s training center in Lalitpur, this phase builds fellows’ pedagogical, technical, and interpersonal skills.

- Understanding Nepal’s education system
- Cultural and linguistic orientation
- Child-centered and inclusive teaching methods

Fellowship Deliverables
- Teaching Portfolio (lesson plans, reflections, student work samples)
- Project/Experience Report – periodic and regular documentation

- Presentation/Sharing Session – at OLE Nepal at the end of the program

- OLE Nepal mentors (educators, trainers, instructional designers) provide ongoing guidance.
- Regular feedback sessions and peer reflections.
- Access to digital resources and technical support.
