With a smile mixed with excitement and a little hesitation, she shared in Maithili: “आब हम कम्प्युटर स पढ्अव सकैत छी,” which means “Now I can also teach using a computer.” Until recently, Ms. Jha had only used a simple "tick-tick" feature phone. She had never touched a computer before. Digital technology felt unfamiliar and intimidating. Like many teachers in rural schools, she had never received formal training on using digital devices or integrating technology into classroom teaching.

Deploying Digital Learning Content in Dolpa
“I can see pictures and animated videos! It is easier to understand the chapter after watching this,” said Nisha Budha, an eighth grader at Tapriza Secondary School in Dolpa. Nisha is quickly gaining confidence in navigating the course material on the computer. Tapriza is one of 15 program schools in Dolpa.

Modifying program activities during the nation-wide lockdown
For the program team at OLE Nepal, 2020 was the year we had planned to visit all of our laptop program schools in the far-western region of Nepal to assess their progress and to provide programmatic and technical support. It was also an opportunity for us to meet with new teachers and local educational authorities.
